CHC Total wheel loaders with snow pushers clearing a commercial parking lot in Southeast Michigan

CHC Total provides 24/7 commercial snow removal in Southeast Michigan: parking-lot plowing, truck-dock clearing, bulk salting, sidewalk brooming and plowing, snow stacking, and off-site snow hauling for businesses, industrial sites, condos, apartments, and healthcare facilities in Canton, Plymouth, Ann Arbor, Livonia, Novi, Northville, and nearby communities.

How we clear your property

Parking lots and truck docks

Starting at the building, smaller equipment — pickups and small and large loaders — moves snow away from entrances so it never accumulates at the building. Articulated loaders with rubber-edged pushers and dump trucks with BOSS V-plows clear open lots. Docks and wells are cleared with loaders, and handicap spaces stay clear.

Parking-lot salting

We bulk salt all unobstructed lot and dock areas with dump-truck-mounted hydraulic spreaders. Salt is pre-bought for the whole season and stockpiled for our customers only — local shortages don’t stop us.

Pedestrian walkways

Under 2": skid-steer rotary brooms sweep walks clean and reduce ice-melt use. 2" and over: skid-steer plows with rubber cutting edges that clean better and protect surfaces. Steps and tight areas are detailed by hand; salt is applied mechanically for even coverage.

Snow removal and stacking

We move a lot of snow fast, stack it high to keep parking spaces, and can haul it completely off site. Lot entrances and approaches are kept clear, and we spot-check during business hours to fix problems.

Snow plowing in Canton, Plymouth, and Metro Detroit since 1959

The first snowfall is a beautiful sight across Metro Detroit — but by the end of January the icy roads, heavy drifts, and lots that need constant plowing and salting wear everyone down. CHC Total makes long winters easier with high-level commercial snow plowing for your business.

The business started with one truck and a commitment to dependable customer service, and grew into a large fleet capable of hauling away mass amounts of snow or managing ice so sidewalks, walkways, and parking lots stay safe. Whether you need a small industrial-park lot plowed or full-service snow removal in Canton or Plymouth, no job is too big or too small.

Southeast Michigan weather is tricky and every company’s expectations are different, so we sit down with you and go step by step through what your business needs to stay operational.

Commercial Snow Removal FAQs

When does snow removal service start?

At 1½ inches of snowfall we automatically start service, or at the specific request of your company. Some customers prefer service every time it snows, others wait until 2 inches — we accommodate any request.

Do you salt parking lots and sidewalks?

Yes. When conditions require it — at our discretion or at your request — we bulk salt all unobstructed lot and dock areas with truck-mounted hydraulic spreaders. Walkways are salted with powered spreaders for accurate, even placement.

What happens if there is a salt shortage?

It doesn’t affect our customers. After a past metro Detroit salt shortage, we began pre-buying bulk salt for the entire season direct from suppliers and stockpiling it for our customers only. We can even keep a stockpile at your building.

How do you clear sidewalks?

For accumulations under 2 inches we sweep with skid-steer rotary brooms, which cleans walks and reduces the need for ice melt. For 2 inches or more we use skid-steer plows with rubber cutting edges. Steps and tight areas are detailed by hand, and snow is never piled next to the building.

Can you haul snow off site?

Yes. We stack snow high to retain parking spaces and can move snow completely off your site when storage runs out.

Do you serve condos, apartments, and healthcare facilities?

Yes. Many condo and apartment communities rely on us to keep residents safe, and for nursing homes and other sites that need emergency-vehicle access, we come back to re-open entrances when city plows block them.

How is commercial snow removal priced?

Seasonal contracts, per-push, and per-event pricing are all common, with salt billed per application or included. See our guide to snow removal contracts, then call for a site walk.
